In any event I didn’t think I’d like the new recipe. I tried the Black Forest gateau but it was no longer for me. They don’t much like the new taste and the slices for them are smaller. Some people seem quite pleased with the new taste and the size of their slice. I have just learned that there’s a new recipe for the Black Forest gateau. And every now and again I could count on a whopping great slice. The ingredients hadn’t been messed about with. I listened to them but really I was happy just to have the lemon drizzle cake. The bakery was skimping on the ingredients and it wasn’t quite as tasty as it used to be. My friends seemed pleased about that but they still did a lot of moaning about the quality of the Black Forest Gateau. If the slices were smaller there was always still the Black Forest gateau to keep the hunger at bay.Įventually I decided that Black Forest gateau wasn’t for me. I noticed the slices were getting thinner as more and more people I didn’t know started having a slice themselves but I was a life long fan of lemon drizzle and nothing could put me off it. The lemon drizzle cake on the other hand tasted just as good as ever. The cake wasn’t quite so moist and the cherry compote was not so sweet. I was very greedy and along with the lemon drizzle cake I was scoffing lots of black forest gateau.Īs time went by the Black Forest gateau began to lose its flavour. I could feast on that huge slice! Before I knew it I was devouring both cakes. Whilst I enjoyed lots of little slices of the lemon drizzle cake, now and again, I’d cut off a huge slice.
The trouble was I already liked another cake, a lemon drizzle cake. Some of my friends weren’t so happy when I developed a taste for “their” cake, they were after all getting smaller slices, but it was too late, who in their right mind when offered a slice of that cake wouldn’t have some and undoubtedly think it was delicious. I liked it and soon I was devouring slice after slice of it. One day I decided that I’d quite like to try some of it. It wasn’t my favourite cake but it did look amazing.
I saw lots of my friends wolfing it down, telling me, in between mouthfuls, just how delicious it was.
